My History as an Educator
I started my teaching career in South Sioux City, Nebraska in 1983. I obtained my elementary teaching degree and my art degree from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. I taught in the South Sioux City District for 15 years. I taught several grade levels including first, third, sixth, and art for grades three through nine.
I have been in the Douglas School District since 1998. I started my teaching career here as the Middle School Art Teacher and transferred to the elementary building after one year so I could pursue my first love: teaching first grade.
In 2000 I pursued my master's degree from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D. and graduated in December of 2002. My master's degree is in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on reading.
