Some people are used to asking for extra credit to help save their grade at the last minute before the end of a grading period.
Creating extra credit assignments for this purpose involves a lot of extra work for the teacher and they have already spent hours creating the original lessons and assignments. These are often not a valid experience when the student has not completed the regular assignments. From time-to-time, I will see the possibility for there to be work done above and beyond the regular effort. When those possibilities arise, an opportunity for extra credit will be offered.
