
BROAD OBJECTIVE STATEMENT
The health program will develop a view towards health problems, decision-making and individual values and goal setting. It will increase the students knowledge of the necessity of good health practices. The program will emphasize the increased self-esteem by acquiring a good attitude toward their own health. Health is pertinent to every race, vocation, and each social-economic level. Good health is a continuing life style.
SPECIFIC STUDENT OBJECTIVES
The students will demonstrate self-responsibility by improving personal health habits.
The students will acquire an awareness of risk-taking behavior, safety measures, and learn first-aid procedures.
The students will develop an awareness of various drugs, drug categories, and the health problems associated with drug use.
PLAN FOR STUDENT EVALUATION
A. Comprehension tests, work sheets, and daily assignments will be administered on the following topics:
1. Good Health Knowledge
2. Hygiene
3. First Aid
4. Drugs & Alcohol
B. Regular homework assignments and major project will be included in the course.
SPECIFIC PASSING CRITERIA
1. Students must have a 70% average on all written tests.
2. Students must complete and turn in all worksheets and daily assignments with a minimum of 70% average.
3. Students must complete all major projects with a minimum of 70% average.
GOOD HEALTH KNOWLEDGE

Students will learn the meaning of health, the importance of being healthy, and the need to have a plan for their health.

The major goal of this Health Curriculum is to develop attitudes and behaviors which will enhance the individual student's quality of life.
