Attentions DHS Students!  The National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y)
The NSLI-Y program offers all expense paid scholarships for summer overseas study of one of seven critical foreign languages: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Russian and Turkish. The program is designed to immerse participants in the cultural life of the host country, provide formal and informal language practice, and spark a lifetime interest in foreign languages and cultures. Graduates of this program are eligible to receive a year’s credit of Foreign Language study as well as many college scholarships. The application deadline is October 30, 2014. See the poster outside Ms. Keffeler’s Room 41 for more information.  Also, don’t forget the Congress-Bundestag Scholarship to Germany is closing soon!
Seniors: Make sure you contact Jodie in the Main Office if you did not place your cap and gown order with Herff-Jones.
A Balfour representative will be at DHS TOMORROW with a display of class rings available for purchase. Stop by his booth from 12:30- 2:00 p.m.  in the Main Foyer If you would like to check out the merchandise.
Environmental Club will have a meeting next Friday at 7:30 a.m. to plan our next event and to schedule recycling duty.
Monday, Oct. 27 is a NO SCHOOL day due to Staff Workday. Enjoy your 3 day weekend and gear up for a great 2nd Quarter!
The Post High Planning Field Trip for Juniors and Seniors is this Thursday, Oct 23. We will leave at 8:30 and return at 10:15. You will be called out of class. There are lists posted near the counseling office and activities office, which show which bus you are assigned to. Please be sure to check the list.
Yearbook is selling pictures and custom posters. Posters are $7 and pictures are $1 each or 8 pics for $5. Talk to a yearbook student or Mrs. Clark for details.
Fans can ride the cheer bus to the football game at Pine Ridge Thursday:  $15 adults, and $10 for HS students, $5 for younger kids with their parents. That also covers their ticket into game and it’s a charter bus. Pay in cash at the Activities Office. 20 spots are available.
