Alfa Flight: Alfa should have won…

            C/Maj Moran

            C/Col Rosenbaum

Bravo Flight: Half the year has gone by and some cadets have dropped out. Even though we did not win outstanding flight, I have high expectations for our flight this next semester. Good luck to everyone.

            C/2d Lt Arch

Charlie Flight: Charlie flight is doing awesome as usual. We were first place in “gifts from the heart” toy drive, which is pretty amazing. Jobs have been switched around and many new cadets have jobs, which is good. Hopefully, everything runs smoothly for us. Well, I don’t really know what else to say… I never do actually… so that’s it.

            C/Maj Medbery

Delta Flight:

Apart from the dismal performance demonstrated first semester, all is well. There is also the small fact of losing cadets in my flight. Hopefully, we can do better second semester.

            C/Lt Col Ranum

Echo Flight:

Hey ya’ll, I can’t believe this year is almost over. I would like to congratulate you all for earning outstanding flight. We had a great semester: “good times.” Keep your eyes on the border and finish the year strong! Love you guys!

            C/Maj Kafka

The Commander’s Corner

Command Chief:

We failed! We did not pass our periodical goals and are already on our way to doing it again. If we do not shape up we are going to have another rough semester! Aside from this, things are going fine. Spring ball is coming up; I know that you all can’t wait! I’m hoping to make this into the best one yet!

            C/CMSgt Morgan

Support Squadron Commander: I wish you all the best of luck for the rest of the year!

            C/Capt Schrader

Operations Squadron Commander: Congratulations to Chris Damers (and Kathryn Stuard too) because Chris Schrader doesn’t care enough to say so.

            C/Capt Maj Moran

Drill Team: Semester’s over and that means the next big thing will be the Black Hills Drill Down. This year regulation drill will be included in the competition; we need to work hard on perfecting our drill movements so we’ll be ready.

            C/Maj Damers

Color Guard: Color guard is going well but we really need more people. Come to the next meeting and I will sign you up. You may earn a nice ribbon and a DHS letter.

            C/2d Lt White

Yay Jake! And Hailey! Kick some butt!

            C/Col Rosenbaum

Rocket Club: Rocket Club is going well but we need more people to join, so… I’m happy for Andrew becoming the new CC and I’m sure he will do a good job.

Spruce it up a lot!

            C/2d Lt White

Kitty Hawk: Kitty Hawk has had a great semester! We have been active in all sorts of community activities. These activities include highway cleanup, coat collection and distribution, caroling at the retirement homes, and a toy collection. I am happy to say that the participation from members was high. However, no new members joined in the first semester. I would like to encourage all cadets to consider joining Kitty Hawk. It is a fun club to be in and all the activities can be put on a résumé. Every cadet that has had at least a semester of ROTC is now eligible and should at least consider the opportunity. I can tell you from experience that when an interviewer hears that you are a part of an Honor Society, they are impressed. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the community and in ROTC and to have some fun. Corey McKeown will now be in command of the group and he is sure to bring some excitement to the position and have some new ideas, so please think about it.

            C/Maj Stuard

E2C: So far, on LRT days we have received a lot of complaints about how hard the workouts are. Don’t you all realize that you are enduring some hard work now, but it’s going to help you on your E2C evaluation in the spring.

            C/2d Lt Lampart

            C/TSgt Cortez

SAS: SAS had a good run this semester. It should be an even better run the second semester. I hand off the torch to “Cheese Nip.” I trust Steffens to do great. I have no worries: Taught the kid everything he knows. J Ha, ha. Thank you to all who contributed and were involved in SAS. Love ya’ll! J

The Working Minds of Lisa and Tamora:

Why did God make mud? Was it just to make our humans mad when we track it in the house, or is it for our pleasure?

            C/Lt Col Cheesman

We could just say that pretzels taste good in chocolate syrup. And also skiing looks like fun, though we’ve never tried it. You have to put the same word twice in a row, like “that that” or “had had.”

Why do we have dreams? Is it possible for more than one person to have the same dream at the same time?

            C/2d Lt Steffens

Well, dreams are interesting, but we feel like talking about sleepwalking right now. Last year, during the camping trip, Tamora had a sleep walking incident. She “woke up” at 2:00 in the morning, and started walking and thought she was a bear. She went over to the neighboring campsite, rummaged through their food, and then roared at the occupants of the tent, thus waking them. A park ranger was called, which ended up with Tamora being shot with a sedative loaded dart. She was then dragged to our campsite and placed on the picnic table where we found her the next morning. But now we must return to the original question. We have dreams because sleep is boring. And no, it’s not possible.

So write questions now!!!!

One last thing Congratulations to Kathryn Suard for gaining an appointment to the Air Force Academy.
