Industrial Technology Mr. Kevin Ham

At DMS there is a course called the Industrial Technology course or Shop. The course is taught by Mr. Kevin Ham. This class is notified as an elective. The students learn about mechanics, electrical work, water works, and many more. The Industrial Technology course is also only for the 7th & 8th grade. The students choose their modules for the school semester before the class goes into full swing. There are about 18 modules for each grade. The module days last for only 8 days. After the 8 days the students rotate to another module. At the end of the semester (2 quarters) the 7th grader clean up the shop and do an anomyous project and the 8th graders do a business project. They make a business, manage it, do finances, and things like that. Every so often there is a movie or speaker that comes in. The movies are about technology...ex. Apollo 13, building of a bridge or something like that. The Shop course is like the Home Technology course, they both teach students many responsibilities to prepare them for the real world.
