I
love teaching! I love teaching! I love teaching! I
love teaching! I love teaching! I love teaching! I love teaching!
I grew up in Rapid City and attended college at Black Hills State
University. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Elementary/Special Education from BHSU and have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
4th, and middle school special education. I have enjoyed each
grade I have had the privilege to teach and am a kid at heart.
School has always been a fun place for me to be.
I come from a long line of
teachers as my mother, aunt, and grandmother were teachers. Playing
school was my favorite pastime as a kid and I knew from a very early
age that I would become a teacher. I enjoy coffee with cream,
doing the daily crossword, gardening, and hanging out at Hobby Lobby. I also
enjoy writing whimsical poetry for friends and special occasions.
Together with my husband
Mark, we have two boys. Aaron and Brady keep us busy with
football, wrestling, and motocross racing. Our dog, Sloppy Joe,
keeps us on our toes with his naughty Yellow Lab ways. He enjoys
chasing cats, birds, and rabbits. We also enjoy spending time
with our Little Brother from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization.
My belief is that all
students can learn and it is my job to make sure that my students enjoy
coming to school each day and look forward to learning. I
practice the Love & Logic disciplinary principles in my classroom
and encourage students to problem solve. I am proud to admit that
I am a strict, but fair teacher.
