| Homework Homework
should be an extension of the school day that allows students to
reinforce skills they have been working with through the week. This
year I will be sending math work home Monday through
Thursday. I ask that students return it the next day. Students
should also read each night for 10 -15 minutes. Reading should be done
with someone. It is always fun to read together, take turns reading or
read to your child. I will also send spelling words home every Monday
and have a test on Friday. If we have a three day week there will not
be a new list. I encourage you to help your child start forming good
habits for homework and set aside a specific time and place for
homework to be completed each night.

| Curriculum The Second Grade curriculum at Francis Case is closely aligned to the South Dakota State Standards. If you should have questions at any time please contact me. |
| Snack Room 117 eats
lunch at 12:15 each day. I find that students become very hungry before
lunch time and need to refuel. I allow a healthy snack to be eaten
about mid-morning. I ask that you help your child remember to pack a
snack each evening before going to bed so they don't forget.
Students may also bring a box of snacks to leave at school.
