Meet the teachers!!

Mr. Tim Rasmussen

I was born and raised in Rapid City. After graduating from Stevens High School in 1991,  I attended and graduated from South Dakota State
University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation with a minor in Health Education. I also
hold South Dakota Teaching Endorsements in Secondary Social Sciences, Psychology, and Sociology.

Immediately following graduation, I came back home and served as a substitute Physical Education teacher in the Rapid City
School District. I was extremely pleased to begin here at Douglas in 2000. Not only do I get to spend my day in the gym with enthusiastic 2nd
and 3rd graders, I am also lucky enough to work with Douglas Middle School athletes as the 7th grade football coach, wrestling coach and
assistant track coach.

Mrs. Mulvehill and I  feel that it is extremely important to promote and model fitness at a young age. At the second and third grade level, students
are exposed to various lifetime activities and fitness concepts. Our primary goal is to get the students moving while we have them in the gym, however,
equally important is our responsibility to keep them active outside of school. Helping the students develop an interest in recreation and emphasizing
healthy choices and lifestyles is why we are here. Mrs. Mulvehill and I tremendously enjoy working with your students and welcome any questions
or comments. You are welcome to come in and observe Physical Education class at any time.

Mrs. Deanne Mulvehill

I love my job!  I go to work and play!!

I grew up in Rapid City and was very involved in athletics.  School was not always my THING but sports got me through!  I love
any and all sports and I love what sports have brought to my life in the way of fun, friends and fitness.  I still dabble and keeping fit
and healthy is very important to me and my family.  If you have any personal fitness needs or questions, I would be happy to help!

I came to teach in the Douglas School District in 1988.  That means I have been here a LONG time!!  I was a part time Physical
Education teacher at Badger Clark for 8 years and then the opportunity to go full time came up.  Now I am the Floating Physical
Education Teacher.  I am at Badger Clark, Francis Case, and Vandenberg.  There is a permanent P.E. teacher in each building and I
pop in to play with everyone!  I love the chance to watch our students grow up and become wonderful people as well as progress in
their physical and motor skills.

I am very proud of the fact that not only am I a teacher here, but my children attend school here too!  Keith is my very musically
talented high school student and Bailey is my athletic and beautiful middle school student.  I was remarried several years ago to Prince
Donald Charming and we have an active boy named Brock and a toddler named Breah!
I love working with your children and I truly love my job.  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, needs or troubles.
