2/11/19

-Student Council: We will be meeting all week this morning for valentine.

 

-Due to sickness and weather, we will not be handing out the Valentines till next week.

 

-Reminder Band and Choir pictures are Wednesday

 

-Yearbooks are still on sale, if you wish to purchase a yearbook talk with your teachers or stop by the office and pick up a yearbook envelope and return it to the office completed with money.  Our deadline is coming soon. So don’t be left out - order soon.

 

-***Attention 8th Grade Volleyball Players***

Volleyball Open Gym for the 8th grade volleyball players that want to play for the Douglas High School Volleyball Team next year:  Open gym= Today from 7-8:15pm

 

-The 8th grade boys basketball team traveled to Rapid City Christian on Saturday.  The Patriots jumped out to a 9 point lead and battled back and forth the rest of the way.  With just seconds left the Patriots found themselves down by 1. Darren Britton got himself open and hit a big 3 point shot that clinched the victory for the Patriots - winning 44 to 42.  Great job Team! Next game is today - The Patriots travel to St. Thomas More. Good Luck Boys!

 

-The 7th grade boys basketball team traveled to Rapid city Christian on Saturday. The Patriots were struggling and down 9 points entering the 4th quarter, until Jamari scored 6 straight points to light the fire for the comeback. The Patriots would take a 2 point lead with a minute left in the game and hang on for the comeback victory.  Jamari led the team with 6 points. Conner chipped in 4 and tanner scored 5. The A squad also played, but did not fair as well. They lost to the comets by a score of 45 to 25. Jacob led the Patriots with 7 points, while Aven scored 4. The Patriots play today at saint Thomas more at 430pm.

 

-The BAM book fair dates and hours are as follows:

Tuesday Feb. 12 from 3 - 7p

Wednesday Feb. 13 from 12 - 3p

Thursday Feb. 14 from 3 - 7p

 

-There will be no weight room this week due to parent teacher conferences.

 

-Seven members of the Patriot Middle School Wrestling team competed at the very tough Middle School State tournament in Pierre on Saturday. They did a great job  and represented our school and team well. Two wrestlers were able to battle through and place in the tournament. Logan Huber place 8th in his weight class, and Riley Schmidt placed 5th. Great job fellas keep working hard.

 

-There will be no Patriot Press this week due to conferences

02/12/19

-The 7th grade boys traveled to saint Thomas more last night and lost a hard fought battle.  The Patriots got back into the game in the second half by playing great defense and out scoring the cavs 9-4 in the 4th quarter,  but it was not enough to pull out the comeback victory. Leading the Patriots in scoring was Dylan garr with 14 points, while Aven Stafford had 9. Jacob chipped in 6.



-Lunch Today: Spaghetti, Cheesy Breadstick, Romaine & Spinach, Corn, Orange, Milk

-Attention 7th and 8th graders – If you have not signed up for Track and Field you need to get to Mr. Elder as soon as possible in room #708.  We only have 1 month before we begin – get out and start running!



-Calling ALL Volleyball Players...again...Calling ALL Volleyball Players

All 6th, 7th and 8th grade volleyball players please get your Douglas Volleyball Camp registration forms turned in to  Ms. Mandy in the office or Coach Baragar in room 802.
