-Do not forget to order your yearbooks! We are out of order forms but you can bring your money in an envelope with your name and grade on it. Yearbooks are $20, make checks payable to Douglas Middle School and turn in to the Office.
-Reminder: turn in your overdue books before Thursday each week to avoid being assigned detention.
-Just a reminder, cell phones and ear buds are not allowed in school. If you bring a cell phone or ear buds to school, it must be powered off and remain in your locker during the school day which is 7:30a-3:30pm. If you are caught with a cell phone or ear buds, they will be confiscated and brought to the office for parent pick up. NO CELL PHONES or EAR BUDS IN SCHOOL BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:30a and 3:30p! All cell phones and ear buds will be confiscated and a parent will have to pick them up in the office. The DMS Student Handbook states:
*A student found in possession of a phone during the school day, whether it is being used or not, on or off, will have their phone taken for the day and may receive a detention. The phone will be held in the office for parent pick up.
-ATTENTION 7th & 8th grade Track and Field athletes – Make sure that you have all of your paperwork completed with the office as soon as possible. We begin practice on Monday, March 8th. You will not be able to participate if you do not take care of your paperwork and grades. If you have any questions come see Mr. Elder in room 708.
-The 7th grade boys basketball team hosted the Spearfish Spartins in a barn burner of a game. With the Patriots down by 2 going into the fourth quarter. Isaiah Brewer and Kris Dorsey went on a scoring spree and out scored the Spartins 14 to 6 in the fourth quarter giving the Patriots a 47 to 41 victory. Key free-throws down the stretch paid off. All scorers were led by Isaiah Brewer with 29 and Kris Dorsey with 17. With the help of Logan Amaral, Cooper McGoldrick, Lane Paulsen, and Zander Doulder the Patriots pulled off a huge upset. Awesome game Team! Record 15 & 2. The team travels to Lead/Deadwood to play in the Cartwright Tournament on Friday. Good Luck Boys!
- The 7th grade boys basketball “B” team also hosted the Spearfish Spartins in another barn burner. Unfortunately, the team came up two points short as they went down in defeat 20 to 22. All scorers were led by Zander Doulder with 6 points and great defense by Levi Brandt. Good job boys!
