Fall 2026: Kindergarten Screening & Teacher Assignments

Screening Process
  • The screening process takes place during the first week of school in August.
  • Your student will be assigned a screening day during the first week of school.
On their assigned day, staff will observe academic readiness, social interactions, and learning styles in a small group setting, and students will:
    • Participate in beginning-of-year assessments
    • Engage in structured play and social activities
    • Practice classroom, lunchroom, and dismissal routines
    • Meet and work with all kindergarten teachers

Teacher Assignments
  • Kindergarten students will not be assigned a classroom teacher prior to the start of school.
  • After all screenings are completed, kindergarten teachers will review screening data and observations. At that time, they will thoughtfully create balanced class lists, ensuring consistency in class size and overall classroom composition.
  • Kindergarten students will be assigned a classroom teacher, and families will be notified once classroom teacher assignments are finalized.
