About Mrs. Deyo

I am so excited to meet all of you and look forward to working with your children when we begin the new school year! I wanted to use this letter as a way of introducing myself. I graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor's of Science in Human Ecology degree in Child and Family Studies and a Master's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education Teacher Licensure Program for Pre-Kindergarten through the Third Grade.

I am originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Murfreesboro is about the same size as Rapid City and located thirty miles southeast of Nashville, TN. I have called it home my entire life. When my husband, a native of Rapid City, proposed to me, we decided to make Rapid City our home. We were married in July of 2014, so I have officially been a South Dakotain for 2 years. South Dakota has so many beautiful places to visit, and I absolutely love calling it my home now.

Before Patriot Elementary-Badger Clark I was employed by the Diocese of Nashville, Tennessee at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic School as a Kindergarten teacher. This year will be my fourth year teaching 3rd grade in the Douglas School District.  However, it will be my first year teaching at Patriot Elementary-Badger Clark.  I have been excitedly preparing for the new school year to begin, and anxiously awaiting to meet my new class of 3rd graders.

My Hopes for the School Year

My hopes for this school year at Douglas are that my new students will enjoy learning and love coming to school.  I hope every child will be an active participant in their learning and strive to challenge himself/herself each day.  I hope to create a classroom environment where my students feel loved, respected, valued, and smart.  My final hope is for my students to be fully prepared for and ecstatic about beginning their 4th grade year.
