Sent to all Badger Clark Families (Nov. 1, 2016)

 Dear Badger Clark Families,

We have heard from parents about traffic and safety concerns on Briggs Drive due to student drop off and the patience with traffic flow. In looking for options to try and solve these issues, we worked with local law enforcement, district administration, and a parent representative to look for answers to make things safer for our students. During these conversations it was felt that the best option was to get students off of Briggs drive and have all students dropped off on Don Williams Drive (the road right in front of our school). After being outside to witness the change this morning we realized that the solution has created more problems, as we just do not have enough space or time on Don Williams Drive to get all students dropped off. To that end, we have decided that we need to revise our previous plan and have drop off on both Briggs Drive and Don Williams Drive. Below are changes to our latest drop off plan. We ask that you remain patient as we try to create an efficient traffic flow plan and most importantly keep our students safe with all the traffic on both roads.

• Pick up and drop of in the staff parking lot to the west of Badger Clark will not be allowed as this lot will be utilized as staff parking and will be blocked off.

• Parents may drop off on Briggs Drive at the crosswalk closest to the cafeteria. Staff will monitor this crosswalk for safety.

• We also ask that parents utilize the drop off at the crosswalk on Don Williams Drive, right in front of Badger Clark. We will also have staff there for safe crossing.

Using both Briggs and Don Williams for a drop off should allow options for families

Please have your child(ren) ready to exit the car in a timely manner.

• If you have students that attend both Badger Clark and Francis Case, you may drop off students at Carrousel. There will always be crossing guards to assist students in crossing safely

• In the afternoons, please continue to park when picking up your student(s).

We appreciate your patience and help in following these traffic guidelines as we work to create a safe plan for our students.

Yours in Education,
Troy Volesky, Principal Badger Clark
