welcome to third grade my name is mrs. flint and I will be your teacher this year we do have an open house coming up on Monday May 23rd from 3:30 to 6 I hope to see you there so I can meet you in person if you are not able to come welcome letter will be sent home a welcome packet will be sent home with your student on the first day of school in this packet there's all kinds information about a birthday treats homework or school hours as well as communication expectations Transportation our schedule and a whole bunch of important things that we need to know about this upcoming school year so please look over this welcome to third grade packet when you get it from your student also coming home what will be a planner which I'll talk more office in a moment in a blue folder it won't look exactly like this but it will be a blue folder like to share my screen and go through a little presentation so you learn a little bit more about me about third grade this year all right there we go the welcome to third grade like I said this is fun and I'm in the Francis case swing in room 26 the meet the teacher here's a little bit about me I am married to my husband Dale and we enjoy hiking and me out. this is my dog Auto my cat Bella and we have several chickens and this one is named Jim and I have three fainting goats the one on the top step is Nanny and then Fern and then Milly on the bottom like I said our classroom is in the Francis case wing room 26 in my classroom does face the playground just kind of nice of course amazing things happen here and here's a cute little video of our classroom what it looks like we of course have a gathering area at the rug and then several different seating options for you to choose from try to rotate those several times throughout the week all right here so communication course I have an email and yours are School's phone number and then like I said we will have a planner where every day your student will write and hear something coming up for the next day usually specials if we have gym or music this is a place where you can write me notes I can write you notes and then I ask that you assign this planner daily as well letting me know that you have seen it and the blue Friday folder so every Friday a blue folder from school will come home with homework as well as letters from the office or letters for me on things like that and then the remind app so this is an app that you can download on your phone or you can do it through email and it lets us text each other I can text out the whole group the whole class appearance of course letting you know about certain things coming up or about how her day went things like that and you can individually text me no numbers are shared through this is just a great way for us naked and Son each other quick text messages how to sign up for that will be in that open house or the welcome to third grade packet that you'll get an open sore on the first day of school positive behavior so I believe in really focusing on positive behavior and rewarding those kids who are showing positive behavior one of those ways that I do this is by handing out Seaport Eminem's throughout the week cuz I believe in M&M stand for manners matter so if I see you or see the student doing something that I feel like it's worthy of a paper Eminem they will get a Eminem they will write their name on that and then on Fridays I dropped three names out for real Eminem as a little reward also I have a link hanging from the ceiling of my room and if classed as a whole is doing something that I feel like is worthy of a LinkedIn they will get a link and when it touches the ground and they will get a treat to have a little party maybe an extra recess something like that homework so we're just going to have some reading and math homework they'll come home on Fridays you will have a week to do it it these things like reading at home and practicing math flash cards at home as well as maybe spelling words so just something simple like that that you can do when you have time but like I said look for more information to come home in the upcoming weeks dismissal we dismiss at 3 which is different than last year so take note of that there is a trance petition form that I'll have to fill out in this packet and it will let me know just want to bust your student rides and how they will be getting home or picked up so that I know and I'm able to I'm in the right spot end of the day and a few reminders our first day of school is Wednesday August 25th and school starts at 8 and then don't forget to bring a water bottle a snack school supplies and a big smile for your teacher and when you come to school in the morning you can head out to the playground if you're not eating breakfast your school and I will meet you by my back door in bring them in to start the day and then I will course see you soon and hopefully you're able to make it to our open house on Monday and May 23rd from 3:30 to 6 if not all this information will be coming home the first day of school with your child and then here's just a cute little video of my goats playing on the steps to leave you with and I can't
