hello Patriot families and welcome to the 2021-2022 school year my name is Mister Pulaski I'm the principal at the badger Clark window Patriot Elementary a principal at the Francis Keith wing of patriot Elementary Miss Park and I we we got really worked together in Partnership throughout the year because we're the two buildings that have K3 so kindergarten through 3rd grade students a solid partnership as we work together to try and create some consistency among our students in the educational process it's happening I have been out here at Douglas for the last six years of this is the start of my sixth year I'll bet I've been 26 years and education so I'm really excited and I all right here at Francis case prior to that administrator in another school district for a year and then a classroom teacher so my total years in education about 21 we have a unique building as we said before we are one school Patriot Elementary with two in those wings we both have a 6 of kindergarten classrooms sticks first grade classrooms 6 second grade classrooms and 5 third grade classroom so cold in the building we have well first 12-second 12 kindergarten in a 10 3rd grade rooms 20 students on Giver take every year but we do try to keep our class sizes low on for the benefit of students and teachers until that are typical class size runs right around their first game this year that you're really going to enjoy the spa but we have in both buildings I just real positive Educators really want to do what's best for students all the time I were very proud of our staff and we know you will be too and proud to have them as your child's teacher along with that we encourage you have families to really get involved in your child's education we love partnering with families we see a great benefit to students and staff to everyone when everyone works together so we just really encourage you to be involved get into the school's I see what your child is learning communicate with classroom teachers and really become a part of patriot Elementary yes with it starts and we welcome you all here as much as possible are we do have some specific goals were looking for as we move through the year and one of those is absolutely we want to make sure all of our students become proficient readers that proficiency is so boring because if it will lend itself to greater learning is a gift moved through their educational process we also want to make sure that our goal is to have a real positive School climate so those are kind of big and not to do that there's a couple things that we have in place turn off on this year Avatar The Last Game is talking about one of our goal how to defeat Percocet reader there's lots of research out that talks about that students need to be in order to increase their academic success and soul. Really have our Focus over the last couple of years and will continue to be our Focus going into this year with our new English language arts curriculum and so your soup will probably be talking a lot about the reading curriculum it's new to all of us but where we are excited for this new Journey I'm in the other thing is if you're really working on like Mr balaski said positive School culture and looking at that from different angles positive climate a staff member positive climate between my parents and the school and also just an overall positive climate for our students in regards to expectation behavior management management and those types of things and we're really working on something we talked which is our positive behavior intervention support and just being consistent with what we all expect from students here at school something else says Miss Clark said looking at their academic Readiness for reading your talking about probably a skill walk or a wind time both times or do we have set up in our daily schedules for kind of a a piece of intervention another words children's individual needs and trying to really feel something I could be there and I actually to accelerate learning for those kids and also those students that have already reached those goals and other areas of Interest how do you can see we have a lot going on this year but super excited about where we're going where we've been using what we've learned and moving forward just for the benefit of kids and so we're really excited to embark on the 2122 school year we encourage you again to be in we have lots of information out there on the website I know parents are going to have burning questions about our reopening plan and what the expectations are about what our parents involvement pick-up and drop-off we could name call list of things that that we know parents and families are going to have questions about so we just encourage you to look at the district website look at your kids get involved in the desert Facebook page watching lots of information gets pushed out through there too so that you will have all of the most recent information as we start this school year if you have any questions don't hesitate to call us at our building are we want it again work with you we want to help you are we truly believe the working together or we can ask just make a great partnership and really see the success in your children's lives thank you so much and we appreciate your time
