hello students hello Families my name is Mrs mammola and I am going to be your first grade teacher this year I wanted to make this video to introduce myself and a few things that you'll want to know about our school and our classroom this year so I wanted to start like I said it by introducing myself my name is mrs. mammola or you can call me mrs. m either way is fine with me I have been married to my Open Mic for 8 years we recently on August 17th adopted our son of Bodie I am a proud aunt in that picture we have Octavia and Nash and finally we took our first big road trip as a family of three we like to travel and we went to the Mall of America this year so we had a lot of fun doing that a little more about me some things here I have my favorite color animals a few things I've been teaching first grade for my whole teaching career which has been 6 years and I love everything about first grade, I grew up in the panhandle of Nebraska we moved back South Dakota when I got my job here in my husband graduated from Douglas like any teacher I have a lot of favorite reading watching movies crafting and definitely doing a lot with books for children dr. Seuss Shel Silverstein Mobile on the some of my favorite people I wanted to talk a little bit about water bottles we do not have access to the water fountains in our classrooms again this year and I do want to make sure that your student is able to drink especially on those warm days and days that they have PE so please send in a water bottle with your student and make sure that their name is on it with our room number teen as well please only let your student bring water other things make messes and if spilled are harder to clean up we will make sure to send them home every Friday so that way they can be cleaned and brought back the next week this year we are going to have students bring their own snacks every day they will be able to eat these during our snack recess time and obviously we recommend anything healthy to keep your students energized and be able to sustain their self themselves throughout the day in between breakfast and lunch and going home we will not be able to share supplies or food so please let your student know about what they bring is theirs and only theirs our school day looks a little bit different if you were here last year and we're still going to begin at 7:40 that's when the bell will ring and students are at able to access building and then go outside and play for morning recess if your student is eating breakfast they can be dropped off by 7:30 make sure you drop them off outside of the cafeteria doors in the front and they should be able to right into the cafeteria this year our lunch is from 12:45 to 1:25 so it's a little bit later in the afternoon which is why those snacks are going to be really important and our school day this year ends at 3 we will be walking out of our classroom and to our drop-off meeting area at 2:50 in the morning when you drop off if you go to the west parking this is what it will look like there's a drop-off Lane and if your student can get right out of the car quickly you can go in there but there's also parking spots if you need to help them and a crosswalk teacher or staff member will be there to help the wire above the door is a good indicator and these doors on the west side are right so they'll be able to find their way through and head straight up to the playground in the morning when they come through the hallway if we have a red flag or we go to a phase where we're not able to be outside in the mornings anymore this is what the outside of our room looks like from the whole way my name is posted and I also have a picture of mice and we have some fun Little Critters to show them the way and welcome them to our classroom and if your student needs breakfast or you drop them off on the north side of the building they will come in through the doors that have a double d d d at the top and walk right into the cafeteria or they'll go right out these double doors on to the playground II pictures here be 18 that is what our classroom door looks like from the plague and this is where I will meet your students every morning to pick them up from Recess again shares those doors that they will go into if they're eating in the cafeteria in the morning but DD up at the top this is also where we're going exiting the building at pickup time we will walk like I said earlier out of our classroom by 2:50 and be outside by 3 this is very important slide because we need to make sure that we are getting your students home or where they're supposed to be at the end of every day if you ever have any changes in the way that your student is going to eat getting to school I'm sorry getting picked up School are getting home from school please let the office know send me an email or a message on Class Dojo just so we make sure that they get home or wherever they need to be safe at the end of the day here's my contact information if you ever need to get ahold of me we will also be using ClassDojo for communication and sharing information and pictures things like that I'll be sending out an invite and I just want to reiterate the importance of communication in order to make this your successful with the changes that are going to be happening and the new policies that are in place we have to be a team and communicate so please don't the teacher reach out to me with any questions or anything that you might need to know or want to share all of my information is here and once you get on ClassDojo and get that up and running you can get a hold of me and access me there as well see you guys soon I am so excited to start this year with you and I hope to see you bright and early on your next school day by
