Hello from the Counseling Office at DHS!

hi my name is Deb Smith and I am one of two counselors here at Douglas High School this is my 23rd year at Douglas and I'm starting my sub in Pierre out the high school so how's school Claire's in part of the Education team we are here to support students in their academic career and social emotional development we see we both see students for a variety of reasons some examples maybe scheduling concerns or help picking out classes that they need getting registered for dual enrollment scholarship questions post-high planning or maybe some no issues that a student need some help working through in addition to seeing students individually we also make classroom visits at various times during the year to get information out to kids and we also I have a link or a page that is connected to the Douglas High School home page under the counseling Tab and we use that as well to get information to both parents and students things to draw at any time during the day to visit with one of us if we aren't available we do have appointments clips that kids can pick up and fill out and then we will get back to them just as soon as possible we can also set up predetermined point to see students tool parent see if you have concerns that you want to share about your student or questions for us we can be reached at 923-0041. The direct line that goes who is the secretary in our office and then she can connect you with one of us so whether you are a student or a parent viewing this just want you to know that if need any help that we can be of assistance to you please feel free to reach out and I look forward to working with you and welcome to Douglas
