Online free and reduced meal applications are now available

For the first two years during the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. public schools were able to provide free meals for all students. This is changing for the 2022-23 school year and families will need to re-apply to continue receiving these benefits.

To access the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Applications, log into your parent portal, click more on the left hand margin, click Meal Benefits, click on “click here to start the application process” to start the application. Once in the application, you will be asked to enter your pin number to represent your signature, this is a 5-character pin, with a minimum of 1 letter and 1 number. If you have forgotten your pin from last year, simply click “forgot pin” and create a new one. Once applications are received and processed, you will receive notification in your parent portal messages, click on “print letter” for the results of your application.

Paper applications are available in the Food Service Office located in the Middle School, and available on our website here: https://www.dsdk12.net/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=359649&type=d&pREC_ID=779791

*Students who qualified in the 21/22 SY, by receiving SNAP/TANF benefits or have an
approved Free and Reduced Priced Meal Application on file, will carry over their benefits expiring
10/10/2022. This carryover period gives families more time to complete the 2022-2023 Free and
Reduced-Price Meal Application.
