Douglas School District Hiring Announcement
New High School Assistant Principal and Badger Clark Elementary Principal

The Douglas School District is pleased to announce new leadership appointments for the 2026-2027 school year, including a new assistant principal at Douglas High School and a new principal at Badger Clark Elementary School.

Jimi Olson has been selected as the new assistant principal for Douglas High School. She brings a strong background in education, student support, and leadership with a commitment to fostering a positive school culture and supporting student success. She looks forward to working alongside staff, students, and families at the high school level. Since 2019, she has served as a middle school Team Lead, a coach, and, most recently, since 2023, as a Behavior Special Education teacher and activities director, always working to align school-wide activities with academic priorities and district policies. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Special Education, along with a minor in Psychology.

We are excited to welcome Jimi Olson to Douglas High School as our new assistant principal,” said Courtney Crosswait, Executive Director of Secondary Academics. “Jimi brings a collaborative leadership style, a strong commitment to student success, and a passion for continuous improvement. Her experience in supporting students, leading teams, and strengthening school systems and structures will be a tremendous asset to Douglas High School, as we continue building a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.”

Dr. Amanda Bauer will serve as principal at Badger Clark Elementary. She brings elementary education and a focus on building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Dr. Bauer served as a classroom teacher from 2011 to 2019, a learning specialist and instructional leader from 2019 to 2024, and most recently as a Middle School Assistant Principal since 2024. She completed her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in mathematics, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration, reflecting a deep commitment to student learning and school leadership.

Dr. Bauer’s strong instructional background, along with her ability to build meaningful connections with students and staff, makes her an excellent fit to support our district priorities and move our strategic plan forward,” said Ann Pettit, Executive Director of Elementary Academics.

The Douglas School District looks forward to the contributions both leaders will make as they begin their new positions officially on July 1, 2026, and continue the district’s commitment to excellence in education.

“We are excited to welcome these outstanding leaders to their new roles,” said Kevin Case, Superintendent. “Their experience, dedication, and student-centered approach for nurturing young learners and preparing students for success beyond high school will have a lasting impact on our schools and community.”
