Special Services

Douglas School District provides a full continuum of services for students ages birth through 21 who qualify for special education. Children are identified through a referral and evaluation process and are educated in the general education classrooms to the maximum extent possible.
Each school in the district has resource classrooms that are staffed with certified special education teachers and paraprofessionals. In addition to special education teachers and paraprofessionals, students are served by speech/language therapists, occupational and physical therapists, as well as school psychologists and behavior specialists.
