No school December 21 and 22 due to inclement weather

After conferring with the National Weather Service (NWS), DSD leadership has decided that the extreme cold, which is expected to worsen tomorrow and Thursday, poses a significant risk to our students and staff, and warrants the closure of schools for tomorrow, Wednesday, December 21 st and Thursday, December 22 nd. As of this afternoon, NWS is projecting wind chills in excess of -40℉, additionally, a winter storm watch, which could produce a ground blizzard and lead to reduced visibility, has been issued.

Activities are still on for this evening; however, all activities for Wednesday and Thursday are canceled.

While we know two more snow days are not ideal, the safety of our students and staff remains our first priority. This week's snow days are traditional snow days, but please know that any future closures due to the weather will likely be designated as E-learning days.

We hope you enjoy the winter break. School resumes January 9. Stay safe and warm.

Happy holidays!
