The Douglas School District is proud to have Ellsworth Air Force Base as part of our extended community. Nearly half of our students are children of military families and other federal employees. We take pride in our outstanding students and our dedicated faculty and staff.

- DSD serves more than 2,800 students and employs approximately 400+ people.
- More than 40 percent of the students are military-connected.
- In 2021, DSD was the first school in South Dakota to receive the distinguished Purple Star designation for its support and commitment to meeting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families.
- DSD is home to Badger Clark & Francis Case Elementary (includes grades K-3), Vandenberg Elementary (grades 4 & 5), Douglas Middle School, and Douglas High School.
- DSD’s Carrousel building also houses the District’s early intervention program, special services programs, and staff.
