If you would like to make an online payment, log into Parent Portal, click on Food Service, click on Pay, add dollar amount, click Add to Cart. Click on My Accounts to apply a payment method, then return to My Cart to complete the payment process.
Free and Reduced Priced Meal Applications are now located on the Parent Portal under "more", "meal benefits", and "click here." Parents who are first-time portal users may obtain access codes by visiting their student's school office. A computer kiosk is available in the Food Service office for those who have trouble accessing or filling out the application. Adjusted meal prices start the day your application is processed. Meals purchased before processing are fully paid prices.
Angel Fund: The Angel Fund provides hot meals for students without money, regardless of the reason. It is mainly funded through generous donations of the remaining money on closed meal accounts or donations from staff and parents.
Options for Angel Fund Donations:
- Donate in person at the office located in the Middle School between 6:30 am -2:00 pm
- Send cash or check with your student in an envelope, designated Angel Fund, to give to the cashier at school.
- By Mail: Douglas Food Services, 691 Tower Road, Box Elder, SD 57719
- Closed Meal Account donation: Request funds from your closed meal account be donated to the Angel Fund using this form.
Transfer Money / Refunds: Due to the large number of students in the district, Food Service will not transfer money from account to account unless the student is leaving the district. If the student is continuing and has money on his/her account that they will not be using, the parent may request a refund by supplying a self-addressed stamped envelope and a written request to:

Please note that money left in the account at the end of the school year will follow your student to the next grade as long as they continue at Douglas School District.
