Esports

Esports offers Douglas Middle School students the opportunity to compete in organized gaming while emphasizing teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. Participants represent the school with pride while developing strategic thinking and digital citizenship.

This sport takes an interest that many students have, playing video games, and incorporates it into a competitive environment. Students compete against their peers from throughout our region using a virtual competition environment. Some game titles available for students to compete are in solo games like Chess, while others are team-based like Rocket League. E-Sports is a rapidly expanding sport in middle and high school, and also at the collegiate level. Universities and other entities are even providing scholarships to E-Sports players to attend school. Competitions will be structured and take place on certain days at set times. There will also be times available for practice and team-building activities on a student's non-competition days. Game titles, expectations, goals, and more will be discussed during the initial parent meeting listed above.

Practice occurs Monday-Thursday after school at Douglas Middle School. All participants must register with Bound at the High School level.
